What is the Australian Consumer Law?
The Australian Consumer Law is national law that covers general standards of business conduct, unfair trading practices, basic consumer rights (which are called consumer guarantees) and the regulation of consumer product safety.
Under ACL, when you buy products and services they come with automatic guarantees that they will be fit for purpose and of acceptable quality. If you buy something that is not right, you have consumer rights.
This includes the right to ask for a repair, replacement or refund as well as compensation for loss or damages, and being able to cancel a faulty service.
The thing I like most about Courtney, is that like me, she is a small business owner who understands the challenges of running a small business.
