Traditional law firms can make those risks harder to manage. Processes that feel formal, opaque and transactional, and that don’t consider their unique needs, can leave women-led businesses at a disadvantage.

Courtney is a lawyer, entrepreneur, and single mum to two boys. She’s passionate about helping women achieve financial independence through business, because she’s seen first-hand how life-changing it can be.
After starting her career as a commercial litigator in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, followed by years working as a commercial lawyer, Courtney founded Her Lawyer to make specialist legal support more accessible to women in business. Her mission is to take the overwhelm out of commercial law and give women the knowledge and self-confidence to back themselves in business.
With almost 15 years of experience, a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and a Diploma of Leadership and Management, Courtney brings both the technical know-how and the lived experience to guide her clients on the most effective business infrastructure on which to build their dream businesses.
Her work supporting women in business was recognised in 2020 with the NSW Emerging Leader Award at the Telstra Business Women’s Awards, and in the same year she received Lawyers Weekly’s 30Under30 Wellness Advocate of the Year Award for her contributions to small practice, women in law and mental health in the profession. Courtney is a regular contributor to and collaborator with the Law Society of New South Wales, the Law Society Journal and Lawyers Weekly.
When she’s not championing women in business, you’ll find her chasing after her boys and enjoying life on the Central Coast.
